Drugs Initial (pro-active)
Courses in the detection of drugs are of 6 weeks
duration. Dogs are trained to use their keen sense of smell to search
and indicate a number of controlled drugs such as cannibis, cocaine,
ecstacy, amphetamean and heroin.
The course will provide you with a good knowledge and understanding of search
techniques and search handling.
Drugs Initial (passive)
Courses in the detection of drugs are of
8 weeks duration. Handler and dog are trained to operate in an environment
where more control is needed over the dog, when it alerts.
The passive response (sit) is required when
working in a delecate environment, such as nightclubs, schools, prison
visitors etc.
Drugs Appraisal
A one or two week course ( depending
on previous course/ experience) available to all search teams who believe
they may need further development.
“ continuation training” sessions can be carried out on a hourly
basis to maintain the required standards

Explosive Initial
Courses in the detection of explosives
are of 8 weeks duration. The lists of explosives currently in use is
extensive, therefore dogs are trained to detect substances relevant to
the clients needs.
Most explosives search dogs are trained with a passive response on alert.
Explosive Appraisal
A one or two week course (depending on previous course/ experience) available
to all search teams who believe they may need further development.

Firearms Detection
Most firearms search teams either use specialist
weapons recovery dogs or firearm search dogs also used for drug detection
or explosive search.
Course will be tailored to suit your needs.
